The Alangu Mastiff


This rare dog breed is from the Southern India, particularly in the Thanjavur and Tiruchi districts. For years, Alangu Mastiff was used for hunting.

Alangu Mastiff is gentle, friendly, and loyal. The males can reach the height of 30 inches. It has a minimal grooming requirements and exercise. These make this dog breed easy to own in a suburban setting. Alangu Mastiff makes a great watch dog too. Indeed, it was used to protect flocks against wolves for hundred years in England.

Alangu Mastiff comes from all over the world and comes in several different colors. Some of them have a short coat and they usually have a water repellant guard hair.
