The Afghan Hound

Oldest, distinguished by its thick, fine, sily coat and tail is a dog breed in Afghanistan. The Afghan Hound stands 24- 29 inches and weighs 45-60 lbs. As you can see in the image, they are tall, slender, has long, narrow head, silky topknot and powerful jaws. The nose is black. They have strong front legs and their feet are large which are covered with long hair. It has a curl or ring at the tip of its tail.

All Afghan Hounds are loyal and loving companions. They need regular exercise and they like to run. Take note that Afghans will become destructive if they do not get enough exercise. They are calm and patient but they are sensitive dogs and are particularly sensitive to stress.
