The Akbash Dog

A dog breed native to western Turkey that is primarily used as a livestock guardian dog is the Akbash Dog, which means "white head". Akbash dogs are intelligent, emotionally sensitive flock guardians typified by a calm, quiet, alert, courageous independence with protective instinct.

How Akbash Dogs look like? They are large dog that weighs 90 to 130 lbs. They are always white and have some gray or light biscuit aroun the ears. They are not shy and they can be used as a companion dogs. Since they lie with the flocks they guard most of the day, Akbash dogs are relatively low-energy breed.
